Bloomington, Ind. — The Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance (HEFWA) has announced the launch of the Alliance Coaching Experience (ACE). ACE is an opportunity for individual members of the Higher Education Financial Wellness Alliance to be partnered with an experienced coach to help them improve their practice in the field of financial wellness. The experience is entered around a one-on-one mentor/mentee experience, coaches and mentees will have regular meetings to help individuals continue to grow and reach individuals’ goals.
Through an initial application process marketed to attendees of the 2019 Higher Education Financial Wellness Summit, nine mentees were selected from a variety of institutional types across the United States for the inaugural cohort of ACE. Coaches were assigned to each mentee based on the needs identified by the individual mentee in their application. Topics of interest included: gaining institutional buy-in, building collaborative relationships, best practices for training peer educators, serving underrepresented populations, and more.
The ACE program is the first of its kind to assist in the development of financial wellness practitioners, and programs around the country. As the number of financial wellness programs around the country continues to grow, HEFWA hopes to expand ACE to provide additional opportunities for seasoned professionals to share their experiences with newer professionals in the field of financial wellness.
