The Higher Education Financial Wellness Summit invites you to share your expertise and insights by submitting a proposal to present at the 2025 Summit, happening July 13-16 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are looking for innovative, engaging sessions that will inspire, inform, and equip attendees in the evolving landscape of financial wellness in higher education. Our attendees include educators, administrators, researchers, financial aid professionals, student service professionals, and advocates committed to promoting financial education, stability, and wellness among college students. We welcome proposals for sessions at all levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—across a variety of formats including interactive workshops, research presentations, panel discussions, and roundtable sessions. Proposals are welcomed in a variety of formats, including presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions. All breakout sessions are 60 minutes. Click the session types below to learn more. A Case Study will illustrate, explore, report, analyze, summarize, challenge, or simply describe practical planning projects carried out to address a problem or take advantage of an opportunity. This is an opportunity to reflect on the experience, what could have been improved, and describe the impacts of doing nothing. Practical application methods, tools, and novel approaches must be included for the audience to learn how these solutions can be applied in their work. A spirited discussion amongst panelists or with the audience about a central topic. To enhance the richness of discussion, selection criteria include the diversity of presenters, organizations, and viewpoints. The moderator will engage the audience and guide the discussion through curated questions, leaving time for Q&A. Panel max: 4 (not including moderator) Learning labs are designed to spark creative thinking in collaborative group sessions by harnessing the power of diverse planner experiences. Through a mix of a brief presentation, facilitation, and problem-solving group exercises, presenters will equip planners with the tools and knowledge to identify potential outcomes and solutions to prevalent challenges. The lecture-style conference session is designed as a structured and informative presentation where a knowledgeable speaker addresses the audience on a specific topic. The speaker typically uses visual aids like slides or multimedia elements to enhance understanding. The content is well-organized, covering key points, insights, and possibly incorporating case studies or examples. The session may include opportunities for questions at designated intervals or a Q&A segment at the end to engage the audience and address queries. Session Learning Levels
HEFWA aims to bridge the knowledge gap by encouraging submissions from a diverse range of contributors, from beginners to experts. We want to harness the collective wisdom of our community to create a comprehensive resource that addresses financial wellness from all angles. Target Audience: Advanced professionals and programs Designed to build upon established experiences, knowledge, and skills. The content includes more diverse and novel applications of the concepts and enhanced usage. Advanced level programming is designed to refine attendee knowledge and skills to effectively utilize across challenging situations. Advanced level programming is more specialized in nature and allows the attendee to integrate and enhance their knowledge and skills to magnify improved application techniques and concepts. Content at this level involves challenging scenarios with practical ideas, solutions, and process improvements related to the competency area. Target Audience: Mid-Level professionals and programs Designed to go beyond fundamental knowledge and includes more depth to teach proficiency in the application of technologies, concepts, or enhanced skills. Intermediate content is designed to provide competence in application and understanding of the limitations of concepts leading to the integration of enhanced skills. This programming could also serve as a refresher course for attendees who have a background in the content area and are interested in learning more contemporary applications. Target Audience: Beginning programs and professionals Designed to introduce attendees to technologies, concepts, and specialized skills for the first time by providing a fundamental base of knowledge. The content is focused on concepts and how they can be applied to practice. Foundational sessions may also be related to an emerging area of knowledge or practice and/or general subject knowledge. call for proposals
