  • What is the HEFWA Programming Committee?

    The HEFWA Programming Committee is a group of financial wellness professionals who are passionate about supporting and growing the HEFWA community. All committee members are volunteers and meet regularly to plan and implement professional development programs.

    What does the HEFWA Programming Committee do?

    The HEFWA Programming Committee manages most of the virtual events and programs outside of the annual Summit.

    This includes monthly webinars, as well as our member-only Master Class events and the Alliance Coaching Experience (ACE).

  • What is the HEFWA Research Committee?

    The HEFWA Research Committee is a group of financial wellness professionals and academics who are passionate about research related to college student financial wellness. All research committee members are volunteers and meet monthly to discuss financial wellness research.

    What does the HEFWA Research Committee do?

    The HEFWA Research Committee conducts three major research activities.

    First, the committee runs the annual HEFWA Survey of Financial Wellness Programs in Higher Education. This survey gathers information related to financial wellness programs on campuses across the United States, disseminating this information in a yearly report and monthly research brief.

    Second, the committee conducts original research projects related to financial wellness in higher education. Currently, the committee is working on research projects related to peer financial mentoring and coaching, as well as communication nudging in financial wellness.

    Third, the committee hosts webinars and presents at regional and national conferences to share their work. In the past, the committee has presented research at the HEFWA Summit, the American Educational Research Association (AERA) conference, and several others.
